Gone Home

Fullbright

Gone Home is an acclaimed first-person narrative game released in 2013. It was the debut game by Portland-based independent studio Fullbright, and is widely acknowledged as a pivotal and influential example of modern interactive narrative. The New York Times called it “the greatest video game love story ever told.”

I composed and performed its original soundtrack, mainly featuring guitar, electric piano, strings, and synthesized elements intended to emphasize the game’s intimate, personal feel. This involved creating several exploratory ambient tracks as well as unique score for each of the game’s dozens of audio logs.

The soundtrack was featured in Believer Magazine in 2018 as part of a feature on notable modern indie game soundtracks. “Props to Chris Remo for another fantastic soundtrack,” said PC World. After its vinyl release, Nintendo Wire called it “stunning.”
